Description

The TPA3255 amplifier chip and NE5532 operational amplifier chip find their application in the Fosi Audio TB10D power amplifier. This amplifier impresses with its noiseless performance, efficient heat management, and user-friendly setup. Representing a valuable addition to home audio setups, it functions as a superb mini amplifier component. I don't need more power than what the amp has with a 32v psu, 46watt in 8 ohm is enough, i just want to have more so at the same volume with a 42v or 48 v psu, it's much cleaner sounding, distortion free at the same max levels as with the 32 v psu which i 46 watt in 8 ohm and 95-99 watt in 4 ohm The class-D amp now has the ability to output such power at such a small size that even floor-standing speakers can sound full and rich from such tight little units.

Fosi Audio TB10D – A Tiny Amp With Massive Sound

I am not sure quite what I was expecting but it wasn't this, it sounds great, not going to get too techy about these things but can I hear everything? yes, is it loud enough for my small (11'x10') room? my goodness yes, though of course there has to be some consideration for the neighbours. In terms of inputs and outputs, the Fosi Audio TB10D is quite simple: there’s the RCA inputs and the speaker outputs. That’s it. Considering the price point of the TB10D, this is quite understandable. Fosi Audio TB10D

Fosi Audio TB10D review: positively deceptive

Anyway, I hope this shows what I think is the big advantage of well implemented tone controls in an amp and the ability to blend the Sub output to provide some level of tweaking the sound to your tastes. The treble can also be increased with the treble potentiometer, and it can go from a neutral, smooth, lean and pleasing treble, to either super rolled off and absent, and also to bright, sparkly, but metallic and shrill treble. The apparent detail increases if pushing the treble wheel to the pedal, but this also increases the distortion, and this results in an audible distortion coming from the Fosi Audio TB10D, in the highs and the upper midrange. While I’ve used it with high-quality newly released speakers, I see TB10D as more of a stereo Hifi Amplifier designed to bring new life into old speakers, vintage speakers, or to pair with entry-level speakers. The Fosi Audio V3 uses the Texas Instruments TPA3255 amplifier chip; compared to previous models, it allows you to roll the two TI NE5532 op-amps, thus enabling you to alter the sound signature to your liking using your favourite op-amps. The Fosi Audio TB10D is aesthetically appealing with a compact and well-constructed design. The amplifier's sleek aluminum chassis exudes a sense of durability, while the control knobs and connectors feel sturdy and reliable. The thoughtful layout of input and output ports enables convenient and hassle-free connections, ensuring a smooth setup process.

On the rear are banana plug connectors that can also accept a raw wire.It should be noted that I have absolutely no affiliation with Fosi Audio. Fosi Audio TB10D Review - Prime Audio Reviews

Bluetooth while it sounds clean (little or no noise compared to the A07 Pro) it just supports the SBC codec (so no AAC or LDAC) The idea of a low cost, high quality two channel amp which is small enough to be easily portable may seem odd but it does make a lot of sense, especially for homes that don’t have the space for a large amp. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.0 makes it even more useful as you can avoid a lot of extra wiring, or hook it up outside to enjoy music with your barbeque. Set up and tear down is a laugh, and won’t take you any time at all. When idling there is a very faint hiss from the speakers, but it’s nothing of concern. Commercial amps at more than 10 times the price produce produce more noise than this. The tone controls have a wide range of adjustment and the volume control is a logarithmic type that requires very little adjustment to make a lot of noise. Much like the TB10D, the V3 delivers a neutral sound signature that won’t colour your sound, allowing you to hear your music unadulterated – or, if you prefer, to only hear the colour imparted to music by your speakers without adding any of its own. This was actually a great combination. If you’ve got a small footprint to work with, then just taking a smart speaker like the Alexa Echo and running the 3.5-mill out to a stereo RCA into the Fosi Audio is easy and fun to control. If there was anything that the TB10D could use, it’s possibly another optical input format. But the RCA was more than suitable for my use, and the initial testing I did was just using an Alexa Mini to play into the Fosi Audio directly. Accessory wise you get a power supply and that’s it, to be honest there isn’t anything else that’s needed to get this little amp up and running. Clear midrange, somewhat energetic highs out of the box, good punchy, tight, mabye a little dry, not super deep bass, wider soundstage, depth than my bt20a, good dynamics, punch in the lows playing the spirit of dun dun by steve smith, nothing like a big amp and thigh sounding speakers with 12" pa subs, bass (could be big jbl tower speakers) but stil good, musical Fosi Audio claims that the amplifier is able to provide up to 600 W of power (300 W per channel), though the company does not specify at what impedance – I suspect it is at 4 Ω. This claim, however, goes in direct contradiction with the maximum amount of power supplied by the PSU: 160 W (32 V, 5 A). Unless they have discovered the Holy Grail of free energy generation, the actual value of the output is probably going to be lower than that – in the ballpark of 150 W, I would say, so around 75 W per channel of sustained output. So where does the 300 W figure come from? The answer (probably) lies in the amplifier chip, a Texas Instruments TPA3255. Its spec sheet says that it can handle up to 315 W per channel; this is however different from the amplifier effectively offering that kind of power. Sound
