I am in the middle of building this now, and I think I will probably paint it fully assembled, although being a bandai kit, it push fits together, but the fit is so snug that there is a danger of damaging the part when trying to prise them apart. You can modify parts to make this easier though. After that a lot of posts were about how to spot differences between the different models, so I thought I'd make it easier Since I’m not only a friend of warships but also a Star Wars fan from the very beginning. And when Bandai released this amazing Millennium Falcon model, I was blown away. WIth regards to paint, acrylic or lacquer paints seem to be ok. Not sure on enamels. With washes, be careful using anything enamel based as the plastic has a habit of reacting adversely to the thinners used to wipe them off.

Millennium Falcon Model 1/72 Scale Kit Star Wars: A New Hope PG Millennium Falcon Model 1/72 Scale Kit

To all Star Wars fans who have been committed to that wish, here is what Bandai has to offer. Here is the ultimate Millennium Falcon. Reproducing the Finest Details As for the Hasbro - its a mish -mash of both models... it will never be a "replica" (unless you basically rebuild it into one of the versions)- but it can be an AWESOME model. What are the best sources for articles and videos of other people's builds? Facebook group, there's quite a few some dedicated to the studio models which are great for reference and some to the model itself . lots of good ones with helpful hints and tips The complex details on the top of the Millennium Falcon are precisely crafted. This level of detail is impossible to recreate in anything smaller than this 1/72 scale model.

The Last Jedi

The kit offers a choice between plastic and etched pieces to create the mesh vent grills, allowing for a more in-depth recreation. LED Light-Up Features (LED Unit Included)

Bandai Star Wars Perfect Grade 1/72 Scale Millennium Falcon

You've probably been watching videos on YouTube, these are the most accessible and there's quite a few on there with some good tips. Bandai really went all out here. There has never been such an accurate and detailed model of the falcon. When Master Replicas were releasing their studio scale model of course they made a 'Replica' of the 32"....they were allowed complete access to it and successfully duplicated it,.....but the 32" didn't really deserve this superstardom,....it wasn't meant to have all this attention & people scrutinising it's every detail,....it wasn't the REAL Falcon So...I’m hearing that one of the key messages here is to assemble it and then paint??? I’ve never really done this before - I’ve always found that painting as I assemble was a better strategy. The idea was to let the falcon fly through a kind of halved tube. This will then be equipped with a Death Star surface, which I will create later. So Bandai have got the Star Wars licence for Japan,...all of the kits they've released so far & are planning on releasing are Original Trilogy kits (Thankfully Prequel kits are not the priority at the minute)...theres XWings, TIE Fighters, Scout Walkers, Droids, Speeder Bikes, Stormtroopers & Vader...... The unique curved engine consists of light guiding parts that recreate the way the engine would light up in the movie. Includes an LED unit, Photo-Etched parts, water-transfer decals, a custom display base, and instructions. Includes seated figure parts of Han, Luke, Leia, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan, C-3PO If it is an Episode 7 Millennium Falcon then it would be based on the 5 footer (with a different Radar dish...after the Lando incident) Thanks john, this is a great thread for us doing the hasbro , I am leaning to the 5 foot model but am slowly getting the differences clear in my head, these details are great.

Method for Spotting Millennium Falcon My Very Easy Method for Spotting Millennium Falcon

Also, all the other panels painted in the original color of the falcon seem to have almost no scratch marks at all. But that’s why I didn’t understand why parts of the inner ship can only be seen in one of the larger holes and I filled the other holes with leftovers from the rummage box and styrene. The base is coming along very nicely indeed. I do play spot the greeblies and I've got a few so far. I'll look again later when I have more time. It took me a long time to take the first step because I didn't know how to fill this large empty area or with what. The different colored plates are supposed to give the impression in the film that Han and Chewi are repairing the falcon with all sorts of spare parts that they got from a junkyard. For example with a plate of a red or dark gray painted YT freighter. The kit lighting set is a bit limited in scope and some folks add an AM one to improve on it. Tyridium Models makes lighting kits as do a number of other companies. Yeah the first two images are there to demonstrate the evolution of the 5 foot model through the OT.....intentionally and accidentally
