Growing up as a tomboy in Lagos, Nigeria, I have always been fascinated by Bratz dolls with their extreme beauty, looks, and out-of-this-world-fashion. Another small problem with the jacket is that the insert pin on the right side of the zipper is not made out of plastic. MOWALOLA is a path-breaking label by a Nigerian designer Mowalola Ogunlesi that has gained both critical and commercial acclaim due to its cogent presentation of ready-to-wear garments that deconstructs maximalist glam by filtering its subjects through a prism of futurism. Felicia comes with the “MTV” zip-up jacket and skirt, “5 Star” top, “Poison Pleaser” platform boots, “Venom” dress, “Toxic” sunglasses, and “Glam Gecko Bundle” bag.

Most of the pieces are pleather and fit very nicely to the dolls’ bodies, which is something that the brand sometimes struggles with.Despite that, they're very unique and beautiful dolls and I hope MGA will continue to make new adult collector Bratz dolls and maybe one day even new playline ones!

If you’ve already read my explanation on how Bratz faces are applied, feel free to skip to the next section! If you are having trouble getting the factory product out of your dolls’ hair that makes it feel “crunchy”, I recommend washing it once (maybe twice depending on how much product is used) with dish soap then following up with a conditioner rinse; a boil wash is not necessary for nylon hair and can sometimes damage it, but a flat iron and other heated hairstyling tools may work better for styling their hair after it has been washed and dried. The collaboration brings the dolls back with a 2022-does-Y2K touch but maintains the fun-loving and high-fashion aesthetic of the original dolls. That’s why I’m so excited to work with MGA and the Bratz team in designing and offering these dolls. Felicia is dressed in an 'MTV' zip-up red pleather jacket, a pleather skirt with the Mowalola emblem, a pleather top with a white star-shaped design and platform boots.

It's interesting how they seem to have rebranded as a collection item for adults as opposed to a toy for kids. The Mowalola dolls are definitely a separation from the typical Bratz look, embracing a more edgy look. For Felicia, her outfit consists of a red pleather 'MTV' zip-up jacket and skirt set, complete with the Mowalola logo and a white star-shaped top.
